Redesigned in 2014 by Feldman Structure, this inspiring townhouse is located in Cole Valley, San Francisco, California.

Description by Feldman Structure

The unconventional renovation of Fitty Wun remodeled this Cole Valley house to mirror the playful personalities of the purchasers, a pair with three energetic younger boys and a “work laborious, play laborious” lifestyle.

Behind a white-framed entrance door in a townhouse façade, the home options an open ground plan that merges the kitchen, eating, and residing rooms into one nice room. This spacious communal residing space features as a hub for cooking, consuming, working, and tomfoolery, with a catwalk connecting the youngsters’s bedrooms overhead. At its core, a 3-story atrium, ringed with a spiraling metal stairway, offers the boys room to play inside earshot of their dad and mom. A wooden rope swing suspended on the atrium’s middle soars from the kitchen to the underside of the ‘pod,’ a floating workplace area that serves as an acoustically separate house from the motion under. From its inexperienced roof with views of Twin Peaks and Mount Sutro to the nice room’s progressive storage options, the design of Fitty Wun combines whimsy and utility.
