Situated on a rocky, wind-swept south going through shoreline; this 1,600sf retreat dwelling nestles into the panorama with a view to harmonize with it’s environment and decrease publicity to climate. Designed with retractable wall panels to guard from punishing winter storms, the home however opens up utterly to the outside when the climate is honest — permitting the house owners to completely work together with the panorama and consider. The location is throughout the San Juan Islands Nationwide Monument, with extraordinarily delicate shorelines and marine surroundings. With a purpose to reduce impacts to pure programs, a backyard roof was employed to switch panorama misplaced to development, and storm-water flows have been engineered to copy the pre-development situation.
